Spending Time in God’s Presence

Shalom (Hebrew Greeting) Commissioner’s 👑 I pray that you are well and walking in purpose. So today, I wanted to share with you a message about how it’s important for us to spend time with God. Just like our relationship with each other cannot grow without communication, it’s the same with our relationship with God. The Lord desires to have a relationship with us and therefore we cannot neglect spending time with him and being in his presence. “My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “ Lord, I am coming.”—Psalms‬ ‭27:8‬ ‭We are created in the image of God and therefore we will always have that feeling of inadequacy until we know who we are in him. Spending time with God doesn’t and actually shouldn’t be done out of routine. It should naturally flow from a desire to be with him.

❤️

Just like no one has to force you to spend time with the people in your life who are important to you, the same should be said of your time with God. Make it fun. Get your Bible, pen, a journal and set up your area. You can get some pillows if you prefer to sit on the floor and make yourself a little corner where you meet with him everyday. See my pic 👇🏾

This was one of the first spaces that I created to spend time with God. So as you can see, it doesn’t have to be an entire room. You can decorate it just to make it exciting. The point is, it’s imperative that we spend time with God so that we can hear from him and get instructions on how to walk this walk. Sometimes you will have days where it’s hard to pray but it’s ok because he knows everything that you are going through before you even tell him. “I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night— but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.” —Psalms‬ ‭139:7-12‬ ‭

❤️

Honestly, some of the best times you’ll spend in God’s presence will be just lying there in silent and allowing yourself to be still long enough to hear what he has to say to you. Prayer is a communication with God. To communicate is to share or exchange information, news, or ideas. If you’re always doing all the talking then there’s no exchange of information going on. James 4:8 tells us to draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. To draw near is to come closer to him. He loves you immeasurably and he is asking for our hearts to be one with HIM. In Ezekiel 36:26 the Lord says, ““I will give you a new heart, I will remove from you your heart of stone””! Allow him to heal your heart from anything that has broken it. That time you spend with him can be a time of healing and restoration. Cast ALL your cares on him because he desires for you to be FREE and living in the fullness of the Holy Spirit—- lacking no good thing.

Psalm 16:11

“You will make known to me the path of life;

In Your presence is fullness of joy;

In Your right hand there are pleasures forever. “

❤️

Let this be your motivation and the push that you were looking for to go and spend time with your Heavenly Father. Go to him, tell him what’s on your heart, then be STILL before him and allow him to speak to you and when he does, LISTEN🙏🏾

Below are some other inspirations for your prayer corner and some prayer corner essentials.
