Good evening commissioners!
I just could not let my birthday go by without thanking the Lord for ALL that he has done! I am —years young today. ( I’ll let you all guess in the comments) To say I’m grateful is an understatement. While this year has not been easy on any of us, it was especially hard for me. In the beginning of the year, I started my last semester of law school. I had so many plans but God knew better. I spent the last couple weeks of my last semester learning from home. It came with its own challenges (My less than 3 year old MacBook stopped working on me) Thankfully, my school was able to purchase another one for me🙌🏾🙌🏾 I ended up finishing up the semester, passed my classes, had my Juris Doctorate Conferred, and watched my graduation on the television screen (yay!).
Of course I wasn’t expecting any of this to happen BUT he did. I recall my pastor‘s sermon a couple of months ago on how God makes provision before time—indeed he does! That message rings so true today—especially in my life. As I celebrate another year of life, I am grateful that God always keeps his promises. I woke up happy and feeling so blessed. Is life perfect? No. But has God made a way in every circumstance that I may find myself in? Yes. The title of today’s message at church was: ”you are handpicked by God,” which means that your very existence was orchestrated by God. You are not here by accident and your experiences whether good or bad is not meant for your demise but for God’s glory to shine through in your life. Your life is a testimony of God’s greatest creation—man. You were made in HIS image and likeness. How beautiful that our life is the canvas that God uses to draw others unto him❤️ I am not perfect but I’m grateful that God overlooks my shortcomings. So don’t despise your pitfalls and mistakes. If you learn from them, they can be the launching pad that will take you to your destiny.
I spent most of today reflecting on my life and how I came to be. It was definitely not a cookie cutter story (one day I’ll share) but to put it in plain English, if not for God, I would not be here. EVERYTIME I think of his faithfulness, I just cry. God is the only one that knows and sees our true worth even when others don’t.
You see, every decision I’ve made in my life thus far brought me to the place that I am now—living and walking in my purpose. The road getting here was not easy. I made a lot of mistakes and chased after the wrong things before realizing that Jesus was all that I needed. One thing that I’m absolutely sure of is when God chooses you, it doesn’t matter who is against you. Absolutely nothing can stop God’s will and plan for your life. Continue to trust him and relinquish ALL control. When you trust your plans to him, he will work it all out for you. Today, I am thankful for my family, my friends, and my community of prayer warriors who are always lifting me up. My current journey is just the beginning and I can’t wait to write again in a few months of God’s continued faithfulness towards me.
I pray that you all continue to trust God. Believe in him with all of your heart. Do not doubt his plans for you. Be obedient and allow him to lead and guide you. “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.”
Psalms 37:4-7 NIV
Love you all 😘🤗
