Trusting God in times of Uncertainty

Hello beautiful people! I pray that your day was fulfilling and productive. I know that this is not an easy time for everyone due to this pandemic. Personally, this has been a time of deep reflection. Being a third year law student, I was looking forward to a lot of different things. Going on a trip to London , graduation, taking the bar, becoming an attorney, and just living out my purpose. BUT, all that changed in a matter of days due to covid-19. At first, I was upset then I began to meditate on James 4:13-15, which says, Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money."Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." The Bible is teaching us to entrust our plans to God, in doing so, we rely on his will rather than ours. I made all of these plans and yet, most of them will either not happen or will now have to be postponed. I am now attending my last few weeks of school online. I did not anticipate any of this but you know who did, God. He knew that all of these things were going to transpire. I am realizing during this time of self reflection on what really matters--a relationship with God. He is the only one that can grant us peace during this time. If you watch the news like I do, you'll instantly become overwhelmed with the number of people dying everyday. There's no denying that we are living in critical times where every choice we make can literally be the difference between life or death. In this very moment, there are a lot of things that are out of our control. One thing that is in our control though is how we respond to this crisis. I am choosing to use this time to get in the word more, be consistent with the blog, spend time in prayer, and building the ministry that God entrusted me with. The time is going to go by regardless, what you do with it will determine how you come out of it. When God sent the plagues on the Egyptians striking their first borns, his people, the Israelites were protected because they had the blood of the lamb on their doorpost. They went into quarantine as slaves but came out free. Exodus 12:31. Had the Israelites not follow God's clear instructions, they too would have suffered the same fate as the Egyptians. In times of uncertainty, whose voice will you listen to? If you're listening to God, you will not be overcome with fear. See, the Israelites did not have to fear because God told them that he would be with them and they believed it through obedience. The same God that was with them and protected them from the deadly pestilences and plagues is the same God that is with you today. He has not changed. Believe in his word. "If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home." Psalm 91:9-10. May you use this time wisely by trusting that even in times of uncertainty, God is with you. He just needs you to put your full faith and trust in him.

Jesus loves you like crazy!
