What God has called you to do, doesn’t require mans approval.

Updated: Jun 8, 2020

Good afternoon Commissioners,

I pray that you all are doing well and walking in purpose. Early this morning, God woke me up with a song. I probably only heard this song maybe three times in my life. I didn’t even know the lyrics so I voice recorded the tune so that I could find it later. I was able to find the song. To my surprise, it was a song about time being short. The title of the song is literally, 🎶“The time is short to accomplish the task” 🎶It’s a French hymn that we sing in the Haitian church. It hit me like a ton of bricks. You see, the Lord speaks to me in many different ways. Sometimes it’s through visions, people, and sometimes through music. Whenever I wake up with a song in my spirit that I don’t normally hear or sing, I pay VERY close attention to it. This song wasn’t just for me, it was a message for the believers and the world.

As I reflect on the message of the song, I knew that God was trying to tell me and HIS people that he is coming soon. This means that time is running out for us to walk in our calling/purpose. It means that we don’t have time to seek others approval before we start walking in God’s calling. In Luke 9:59-62 “Jesus said to another man, “Follow me.” But that man said, “Sir, first let me go back and bury my father.” Jesus answered, “Let the dead bury their own dead. You go and proclaim the Kingdom of God.”

Someone else said, “I will follow you, sir; but first let me go and say goodbye to my family.” Jesus said to him, “Anyone who starts to plough and then keeps looking back is of no use to the Kingdom of God.” Whew! What a word! In other words, when you are called, you just obey. The gospel of Jesus Christ does not require man’s approval. God didn’t ask no ones permission before he chose you. The Bible reads:

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." So before your parents laid their eyes on you, before they even knew who you were going to become, he chose you. We are God’s creation and when we accept him as our Lord and savior, we become his children and co-heirs with Christ. Our very mission in life is to please the father and do what he has called us to do.

Sometimes, we let others determine when we are ready to do the work of the Lord. You may be a part of a church where the leaders don’t feel like you are ready or they may show favoritism and pick someone over you to do a job that you know that God has called you to. Use sound judgment and discern the times because you cannot let someone stunt your growth. This is not to be seen as an act of rebellion towards our spiritual leaders but to open our eyes and realize that God is the one who controls our destiny and not man. No man is perfect for all have fallen short of the glory of God. Everyone is prone to make mistakes and no one is immune from satan’s devises. It’s more important to be led by God. Dont’t wait till it’s too late to be Obedient to the call of God on your life, after all time is short. I’m sure if the grave could cry out, it would project the voices of the people who lived their entire life outside of God’s will and purpose for them. When we stand before God, he will ask us these two things:

  1. What did you do with My son, Jesus?

  2. What did you do on earth with the time, talents and treasure I gave to you?

Of course with any task comes the responsibility of the one who it’s entrusted to to do their due diligence in executing it with a spirit of excellence. “So then, my brothers and sisters, try even harder to make God's call and his choice of you a permanent experience; if you do so, you will never abandon your faith.” 2 Peter‬ ‭1:10‬. Your calling should not be separate from your life, it should operate in conjunction with what you are already doing because if you’re truly living for God, you are already operating under his will. For example, this time last year, I was called to be an evangelist. At first, I didn’t truly understand the task that came with being an evangelist until I broke down what it meant. Being an evangelist means sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere and letting the world know of him. Sounds simple right? Yes and no. I have always been one to share my faith but now I have to go beyond the few passages of scripture that I knew and now have to start studying the bible from front to back. When you share the gospel, you are going to encounter people from all walks of life. Guess what? They will have questions and you will need to provide answers.

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect —1 Peter 3:15

There are some things in my life that I would have never been able to accomplish if I waited for someone to approve of what I was doing. This is not to say that we should not heed sound counsel but we should not leave the choice of whether to walk in our calling in the hands of another. Instead, we should be seeking God since he is the one that called us. He is the one that knows when we are ready and he is the one that will instruct us on how to go about doing his will. Below are the lyrics of that song that the Lord woke me up to. I pray it speaks to you as it spoke to me. May we continue to seek the Lord while we still can. God bless you all❤️ 🤗

🎵Time is short to complete the task🎵

1

Time is short to complete the task Towards yourself, towards humanity.

We must act without respite and without rest,

You have to sow for immortality.

Chorus

Because slowly, but surely,

My boat is sailing at the port.

I'm going to the heavens,

I'm going to my God;

Because slowly, but surely,

My boat is sailing at the port,

I can already hear the echo

Songs from the other side.

2

Time is short to strip our soul

From any burden from sin,

And finally rekindle in it the flame,

Divine altar with a humble and broken heart.

3

Time is short to help our brother;

Let’s extend a hand of love, of faith.

Oh! Forgive, and sow on the earth

The grain that dies and is reborn a hundred times.

4

Time is short, the waves of life

Will soon have pushed my boat to the port.

How many souls suffering far from the homeland,

Let’s show them the only entrance to the port.
